After trying the Little Tikes 5 in 1 gym and being very disappointed, I decided to try this new gym by Fisher Price. My almost 4 month old daughter really likes it! The “soothing” mode is great because it will play music and sounds for about 10 minutes. My daughter smiles at Elmo and the lights. I’m not sure why these types of toys don’t come with volume control, but this one doesn’t seem to be too loud for a small baby.

I gave it 4 stars because the hanging toys could be much improved. They don’t rattle when baby bats at them, and it’s not easy for baby to activate the music and sounds by playing with them. They really need to pulled/pushed a certain way to get them to work. (I also wish it had a foot pad for my daughter to kick to get the music going, but I knew when I bought it that it didn’t have this feature so that’s not a reason for the 4 star rating.) Overall construction quality seems good (we’ve only had it for 2 days, though!).

I also like the fact that it has lots of buttons to push for when baby gets older and can sit in front of the gym and play. All in all, I’m happy with this gym and would recommend it to others!

Only issues are that it is heavy and it's a little bit stiff when you're trying to put it up. Plus at 5'3" it's a bit of a challenge for me to try to hold the sides apart far enough (and yes I know to click the sides up first) and bend over the side to be able to push the middle down. Hopefully with use it will break in a little and not be quite so stiff to push the center down. This mat helps keep the dining room carpet clean(er). I use it while feeding my baby in her chair. She loves dropping food and every thing else over the sides and on the floor. This mat works okay for covering the carpet/floor under the baby’s feeding chair, but don’t expect anything more than a thin, cheap plastic sheet. I was under the misimpression that the mat would be thicker and somewhat stiff. This is just thin, a folded plastic sheet, which makes it a little more difficult to wipe clean. Because it’s so thin and flexible (imagine a disposable plastic tarp), it is prone to wrinkling/moving when wiping clean.

I purchased this for my 7-month old grandaughter. She has enjoyed it immensely. The only problems I see with the toy is due to the size, it is difficult to store and ends up being part of the furniture. The other is with several smaller parts, our 1-year old puppy has absconded with several of them and thus, are now part of his toybox. With the lights and music, it is still a great buy for a smaller child.

He'll push it around a little, but in general, it sits in a corner of his room. I would highly recommend the toy for the quality of its craftsmanship and the ease of use, though. I bought this for my son for Christmas. He was just walking at that point, and so I didn’t expect him to be very excited about it; I figured that would come in a few months. Unfortunately, he never really “took” to this toy. It’s cute. He’ll push it around a little, but in general, it sits in a corner of his room. I would highly recommend the toy for the quality of its craftsmanship and the ease of use, though. My child never really was interested in “pushing” the dragon, either; he would generally drag it along behind him.
